Andrea Perchotte caught the travel bug at a young age and over the past 20 years has been to dozens of countries spanning 6 continents. Her unique insider perspective of the travel industry is a result of having been a flight attendant and a cruise line crew member on 30+ cruises sailing off the shores of Europe, Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii as well as in the Caribbean. As an accommodation inspector, Andrea rated over 125 hotels, motels and bed & breakfasts.
She holds honours degrees in Japanese and Education, and leads seminars on travel tips. Here’s what participants have said about Andrea’s workshops and presentations.
Her passion to educate others is also infused in her writing. Andrea is the author of TravelSmarts: Essential Tips & Strategies for Traveling Smart, Safe and Affordably, which has been featured in a variety of newspapers including here.
As well, she’s penned articles which have appeared in such publications as AARP, Business in Vancouver, BC Home, Edmonton Woman, Canadian Consulting Engineer and Transitions Abroad, among others. Andrea provides practical tips as a travel blogger through her blog, TravelPerch.
She studied at a Japanese high school and was later granted a scholarship to attend university in Japan where she also taught ESL. While living in Guatemala, Andrea studied Spanish and volunteered with disadvantaged children.
