BLUNT umbrellas are designed to withstand the toughest weather conditions. This two-stage collapsible umbrella folds, saving precious space in your bag and making it easier to carry. The patented Radial Tensioning System (RTS) design stretches the canopy as tautly as possible, preventing the umbrella from turning inside out. The Blunt Metro has been tested up to 89 kph/55 mph or Force 9 winds. All BLUNT umbrellas feature patented BLUNT Tips that form an integral part of their unique Radial Tensioning System (RTS), a system that redirects, transfers and distributes the effort used in opening the umbrella throughout entire canopy surface. The fully tensioned canopy creates an aerodynamic and robust structure, making BLUNT umbrellas the ultimate defense against the elements. Every single BLUNT umbrella has an independent 38 point check before it reaches you.

Review for Blunt Metro XS in Navy - I purchased this umbrella because it was rated for Force 9 Winds 89 kph/55mph. I wanted an umbrella that would not turn inside out repeatedly and get damaged. Within 5 seconds of me opening this umbrella and using it for the first time the umbrella caught a gust of wind and turned inside out, without hesitation. I live in Calgary, Alberta and the wind/wind gust was 23-35kph max. This umbrella is rated for 89 kph/55mph max. Very disappointed. I should have spent less money and tried the vented Gustbuster Metro instead.
The umbrella looks really nice, but I purchased it for its supposed wind resistance. It is small enough to fit in my backpack. It's 14 inches long when folded, and 22.5 inches long when the handle is extended. Measuring from underneath tip to tip it's 38 inches across. The canopy has a max depth of 7 inches when measured from the middle underneath. I'm not sure how well it keeps you dry in heavy rain, but in average wind speeds of 23-35 kph it FAILS and turns inside out without hesitation. This will most likely lead to damage and tearing over time. The ribs/struts that support the canopy are a combination of metal and plastic parts, I'm not sure how well those will hold up over time, especially with the umbrella turning inside out.
Also, It would be nice if the carry cover for the umbrella had a shoulder strap sewn to it.

Blunt makes the best umbrellas out there. This is my second Blunt umbrella, this one being in a smaller size. Top quality and great colour selection. TravelSmarts did a great job processing and shipping my order to me. Couldn't be happier. Would definitely recommend both.
